Tawnya Liva, Creator of Canine Meadows

Tawnya wears many hats, but her favourites are as a wife and mom to three wonderful humans and two lovable furbabies. She was a veterinary assistant for 8 years before she became a stay-at-home mom 12 years ago. She married her high school sweetheart, both graduating from Pitt Meadows Secondary School and eventually moved back to his family’s farm where they reside today. If you don’t see the family out during harvesting time, you can be sure you’ll see them helping out around Canine Meadows.

Tawnya was born with a true love for animals and couldn’t imagine life without a dog by her side. Understanding and learning about dog behaviour has always been very important to her. She has a Canine Communications Certificate through New Skills Academy and a Veterinary Assistant Diploma from Granville Business College.

Tawnya is a natural caregiver with a huge heart, which is evident in the way she cares for others. To nurture, love and advocate is something she is very passionate about. Before going back to her roots to care for pups in her community, she was a certified birth doula. When she’s not at Canine Meadows, you can find Tawnya hiking, being in nature and spending time with her family.
